If you like to read books with action in them then Plague is for you. It is non-stop!!! A virus attacks the animals, of the Serengeti, who attempt to take down the Security Forces that protect them from poachers. Some people that are bitten, also become virus controlled and attack anything living. A never ending battle evolves. Solid characters with a moving story.
5 star read only because the author grabs you in the first chapter and then holds your interest until you reach that last page.

Well where to begin... I love the Hank Boyd books and was wishing this was another, but instead it was an action lovers dream. Somewhere around the first third of the book when I had a second to breathe,i remember thinking this was how I felt the first time I read a Matt Reilly book. This book is unreal. If you enjoy action and monsters you should read this immediately. Matthew James is getting better with every book and now the only thing that I don't like is waiting for the next one. Bring on Dead Moon.

This book was awesome. It pulled me in and I couldn't help myself - I wanted to keep reading until I found out about the WWII secret. I loved seeing the thoughts of the monsters as they 'remembered' their past and their human life. It kept me on the edge of my seat. I enjoyed it.

I was devastated when Cassian fell off and did Josalyn dirty it felt like my heart broke.Andy did a whole turn around I hate she had to experience what she did but it was a lesson learned. She found love with Urban and her happily ever after. Zooey wasn't playing she went and got her man.It ended on a good note for everyone and they all got their happily ever after finally it might have taken some trials and tribulations but it was worth it.Part 2 did not disappoint!!!!!!

Loved this book... It picked up right where part 1 left off...It just kept getting better and better. .. These sisters Zooey, Andi, and Josalyn have come a long way and been through so much..... This book has more drama and heartache for these sisters... Josalyn and Cassian have been through so much in this relationship... For some reason Cassian could not get it right no matter what... Can he finally do it or does Josalyn have to finally walk away in order to be happy? Andi kept jumping from one artist to another all for money... Will Andi finally get herself together and stop using people and just love someone? Will she finally be able to walk away from Denim? Zooey had a good man in Qadir and she just couldn't be faithful.. Now he is happy in a new relationship and Zooey has been stabbed... Will Zooey be able to find happiness after all the dirt she has done? Or will she be alone forever? I have to say that I loved how this book read and how it all came to an end... I recommend this series if u want a good read...

The story picks up right where part 1 left off. This book had my emotions all over the place. A rollercoaster of a ride with plenty of drama and lies. I'm so happy that Josalyn and Cassian made it through all of the depression and addiction issues. He had me yelling at my kindle at times, and I had to remind myself, that it's only a book. Overall, this was a great read.

Laugh out loud!

I have not finished the stories, but the first story has me laughing out loud. I am listening to it on CD narrated with a wonderful brogue. I just hope I don't have an accident while laughing at the clever lines. The author is outside the story, but makes you feel you can read the minds of the characters. There is some profanity, but slipped in hilariously. I hope the rest of the stories match the first.

Each includes a reference to immigrants (hence, "deportees"), sometimes as a protagonist, sometimes as another character. The stories are a sampling of Doyle's style and concerns, which, although they can be humorous, always have a poignancy if not earth-shaking pain. If you've never read Doyle, taste these bites. If you have enjoyed Doyle previously, relax and swallow his world whole.

Brilliant book; DREADFUL audiobook decision

These stories are uniformly brilliant, witty, and sometimes downright hilarious. The Irish dialect might challenge Americans, but if you saw and enjoyed 'The Committments' you should be all right.

But what makes the audiobook completely unlistenable for me is that Hugh Lee, the narrator, reads EVERY WORD of the text. He uses easily a dozen easily-distinguished different male and female voices. But you get ridiculous sequences like:

"We'll have to meet him." She said.
"NO!" Said Larry.
"Yes, Larry." She said.

After a few minutes of needlessly being told who is speaking, I turned it off and went to find my printed copy.

This is the heartening rags-to-riches story of Li, who achieved prominence on the international ballet stage. Born in 1961, just before the Cultural Revolution, Li was raised in extreme rural poverty and witnessed Communist brutality, yet he imbibed a reverence for Mao and his programs. In a twist of fate worthy of a fairy tale (or a ballet), Li, at age 11, was selected by delegates from Madame Mao's arts programs to join the Beijing Dance Academy. In 1979, through the largesse of choreographer and artistic director Ben Stevenson, he was selected to spend a summer with the Houston Ballet—the first official exchange of artists between China and America since 1949. Li's visit, with its taste of freedom, made an enormous impression on his perceptions of both ballet and of politics, and once back in China, Li lobbied persistently and shrewdly to be allowed to return to America. Miraculously, he prevailed in getting permission for a one-year return. In an April 1981 spectacle that received national media attention, Li defected in a showdown at the Chinese consulate in Houston. He married fellow dancer Mary McKendry and gained international renown as a principal dancer with the Houston Ballet and later with the Australian Ballet; eventually, he retired from dance to work in finance. Grade 6–9—In 1961, just three years after Mao's disastrous Great Leap Forward, Li Cunxin was born, the sixth son in a family of Chinese peasants who eked out a meager existence on a rural commune. During his childhood he endured unimaginable poverty and hardships and witnessed the shooting of 15 "counter-revolutionaries" by Mao's Red Guards. When chosen to audition for Madame Mao's Beijing Ballet Academy at age 11, ballet became his chance for a good job and enough food for life. Many years of training, two U.S. trips, one premature marriage, and a defection later, Li joined the Houston Ballet as a principal dancer, paving his way to international fame. Although told in a rather bland style—mostly in basic declarative sentences—the information about the country at this time and the danger and angst that accompanied the dancer's decision to defect will be of interest to teens. This Young Reader's Edition of the adult book (Putnam, 2004) gives a much fuller portrait than the author's picture-book version, Dancing to Freedom (Walker, 2008). The black-and-white photos, the abbreviated history, and time line will help students place Li's life story into historical context. A Moving Story with a Unique Perspective

This is the inspirational tale of a boy/man who trains as a dancer in China under Mao’s communist regime. Told in a straight-forward, unembellished style, it presents countless fascinating details of daily life and relationships that present a vivid picture of what the author experiences. The account is especially moving because it offers insight into the lovable character of people once considered enemies by the United States. Li’s peasant family endures brutal hardship, working long hours every day, suffering extremes of weather and lack of food, and yet they are quite resigned and able to enjoy each other and the good they have. Even the broader community seems to rejoice with Li’s successes rather than wallow in self-pity or envy. The story evokes sympathy for people who suffer under communism, but are also vulnerable to official propaganda, as we all are.

This book truly makes you realize how difficult it is for many people to manage to get enough food to feed their families in China. It makes you realize how good it is in America and how many freedoms we have. Well told story.

Mao's China through the eyes of a rural boy.

This book is one of those that you cannot put away till the end. Li Cunxin writes in a simple way, but with that rare skill of keeping you baffled through all its chapters. It traces Cunxin early life in a peasants' commune in rural China, suffering abject poverty, to his eventful obligatory trip to Beijing, to study ballet at the Beijing Ballet Academy, under China's strict communist discipline and rules, where he completes 7 years of training. Initially Cunxin hated ballet, but after several years, he learned to appreciate its beauty and artistic value. That turning point made him work harder, and the rest is history: he became one of the best dancers of the world of his time. It is a very touching book. Also very interesting because besides Cunxin' personal life as it relates to the ballet world, one learns about Mao Tse Tung's Cultural Revolution in China through the eyes of a poor peasant child who turned into an international star, not without before having caused a diplomatic conflict between China and USA. I recommend this book for all ballet lovers and to those who have an interest on China's history under Chairman Mao's communist rule and its impact on China's education and social life of that time.

Best Campaign Setting book to date

I have almost every Pathfinder book out there. This is by far one of the best, and as far as the Campaign Setting line is concerned, this IS the best.

The book oozes flavor, story, and interesting setting details. The art is very nice. But most of all, the writing is well structured and keeps you hooked. I had trouble putting this book down, it was that good of a read. A+
